Launch of "New North" and "New Voices"

1) This event was billed as a 'Gala Poetry Reading' and was part of the 2008 Belfast Festival at Queen's. It was the Northern Irish launch of a joint venture that saw the publication of two anthologies of emerging writers. One anthology was of writers from the USA ("New Voices"), the other of writers from Northern Ireland ("New North"). 2) Chris Agee is editor the "New North", as well as being editor of the journal "Irish Pages", that published the "New Voices" anthology: http://www.irishpages.org/. 3) Philip Hammond represents the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (http://www.artscouncil-ni.org/) who part-funded the publishing project. Hammond was also involved with Lannan Foundation Washington Readings: GR.Washington1 and GR.Washington2. 4) Jon Peede represents the National Endowment for the Arts (USA): http://www.arts.gov/index.html. 5) Harvey L. Hix is editor of the "New Voices" anthology that is being launched. 6) Question and Answer session recorded separately. Poor quality. 7) Belfast Festival: http://www.belfastfestival.com/. 8) Seamus Heaney Centre: http://www.qub.ac.uk/schools/SeamusHeaneyCentreforPoetry/
