Queen's and World War One

Members of Queen's who died during World War One

The Book of Remembrance records those members of Queen's and its Officer Training Corps who died on active service during World War One. It is possible to compile biographical entries for the people who are listed in the Book of Remembrance by using the Queen's Entrance Registers (which date from 1849 onwards), the registers showing the Record of Services of the Queen's University Officer Training Corps dating from 1909-1919, 1910-1950 and 1914-1950 and the Irish censuses of 1901 and 1911. The only extant copies of the registers of the Queen's University OTC are held on microfilm in the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland, (PRONI MIC 204) and the censuses of Ireland 1901 and 1911 are freely available online on the National Archives of Ireland website.
